Churchgoers 'conned out of £3.2m'

Surely the headline could be simplified to "Churchgoers conned"
It seems that members of a 7th Day Adventist church trusted their fellow members, merely because they were fellow members that they gave them all their life savings to invest.
The dodgy mormons used the money for flats cars and holidays.
I've seen this mentality in my family and friends, who give business to people merely because they are avowed christians, and thus bear some sort of invisible stamp of honesty.
I'd be tempted to do the opposite, anyone who is deluded about the nature of the universe and talks to an invisible man AND believes the invisible man talks back, can't be trusted with my affairs.
